Theatre Arts Presents "Six Characters in Search of an Author"
Luigi Pirandello's experimental "Six Characters in Search of an Author" is play within a play, sort of.

In the middle of a rather mundane play rehearsal, the director, stage manager and actors are interrupted by the unexpected arrival of six characters: a father, a mother, a son, a stepdaughter, a boy and a little girl. They have lives, stories to tell, but their dramatic text has not yet been written.

The play proceeds with the six characters relating incidents from their lives, and the actors become both the audience, as well as the performers of the dramatic text being created in their presence. A kind of theatrical hall of mirrors ensues, and the stage becomes more real than the world itself.

The Theatre Arts Lab will host three performances of the show, April 12-14. Friday and Saturday shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday matinee begins at 3 p.m.

Tickets are just $5 for DU students, $15 for the public. Faculty and staff also receive discounts for purchasing in advance.
