Spring Fashion Show: "Pastiche"
by Dan Armstrong
Pastiche Fashion Show
The Department of Apparel Merchandising and Design's 2013 fashion show, "Pastiche," will showcase more than 100 garments created by apparel design students.

The professional-quality runway show, presented by senior students in the Department of Apparel Design and Merchandising, is judged annually by a jury of industry veterans.

Apparel merchandising and design students do the Harlem Shake in style as they prepare for three presentations of the spring fashion show April 6-7.
Three shows will be held on the weekend of April 6-7:

  • -Saturday, April 6, 3 p.m.
  • -Saturday, April 6, 7 p.m.
  • -Sunday, April 7, 3 p.m.

All shows will be held in the Lund Auditorium.

The garments will highlight each designer's unique style, ranging from ready-to-wear apparel to Avant-garde pieces. The show will conclude with senior collections designed by each senior apparel design student.

At the April 7 show, Dominican President Donna M. Carroll will present students with scholarships and awards chosen by the jury.

The theme "Pastiche" draws from the designers' experiences in transforming years of study, classwork, hands-on experience and history into something new and exciting.

Friends and family of the students, members of the surrounding community and industry professionals are all invited to attend.

Dominican student tickets are $10 with ID. General admission is $15.

Tickets may be purchased by contacting the Performing Arts Center Box Office at (708) 488-5000 or dupac@dom.edu or online at dom.edu/pac/BoxOffice.
